Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced boiler operator for its Windsor Locks powerhouse. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and operate boilers and related equipment on site, ensuring efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities include analyzing water samples, performing preventive maintenance, and following blueprints and manuals. The role requires 2+ years in power plants or similar environments, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years’ experience in power plants, powerhouses, engine rooms, or engineering spaces.
• Experience with high pressure steam boilers and/or cogeneration plants.
• Requires valid motor vehicle license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, modify, repair and inspect boilers and related equipment on and off site.
• Operate equipment to maximize efficiency and monitor performance.
• Take water samples on boilers and water systems, analyze results and take corrective action.
• Under watch engineer guidance, changeover boilers using alternate fuels, oils or gas.
• Work from complex blueprints, drawings and manuals to perform powerhouse duties.
• Record daily performance and logs of boiler operations and analysis.
