Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced PowerBuilder/Application Developer to provide services for the maintenance, support, and enhancement of legacy and modernized applications. This role requires collaboration with internal teams, business stakeholders, and technical leads, primarily focused on PowerBuilder and Java-based systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with client teams and business partners to address bugs, defects, system maintenance, and enhancements in PowerBuilder applications using Jira for tracking.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within legacy PowerBuilder systems in coordination with Technical Leads, Application Development Leads, and business users.
- Conduct unit and code-level testing following industry best practices and client-specific standards.
- Support system integration, QA, and user acceptance testing activities.
- Manage source code, implement change control processes, and execute release management procedures per client policies.
- Contribute to development tasks supporting Drinking Water Protection system modernization efforts.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning/reviews, requirements analysis, and code reviews.
- Provide task estimates and report progress, blockers, and technical issues to leads and subject matter experts.
- Contribute to the transition and development of future-state Java applications.
- Share knowledge and assist in training or documentation efforts to ensure smooth handover to internal staff.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Extensive PowerBuilder experience with the ability to quickly understand the technology, frameworks, strengths, and weaknesses of legacy systems.
- Strong skills in writing PL/SQL procedures and working with Oracle databases.
- Familiarity with PFC (PowerBuilder Foundation Class) libraries.
- Prior experience in Client-Server environments (PowerBuilder, Visual Basic, Delphi).
- Proficiency with Git or similar source code versioning tools.
- Experience with SQL for CRUD operations and view creation.
- Proven ability to analyze and update legacy code.
- Exposure to JavaScript and front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
Compensation:
Hourly W2 pay rate: $70-$85/Hr.
We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
