Description
An Engineer with Asplundh Engineering Services (AES) will lead a team or work on a team to complete engineering tasks and create custom engineering solutions to meet customer needs. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to adapt in a fast-paced and evolving industry.
An ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and planning skills while excelling in a team-based environment. The candidate should approach all tasks in a detail-oriented manner, with a strong sense of ownership over all deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating and reviewing Protection & Control settings designs
- Performing protection studies and analyses to develop basis documents and relay setting files
- Creating and reviewing HMI (Human-Machine Interface) settings
- Creating and reviewing RTU settings designs
- Designing and configuring operating characteristics of managed switches and LANs
- Reviewing current industry best practices to ensure compliance with cyber security requirements
- Performing any entry-level engineering role in the design aspects of engineering projects and assisting other departmental engineers
- Performing on-site engineering support when needed
- Planning and coordinating projects with limited supervision
- Understanding and delivering results based on client-specific standards and requirements
- Training and developing junior personnel
- Leading portions of a project while working on a team to reach a common goal
Education & Experience
- 2-8 years of experience in relay/protection engineering or related industry required.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Programming knowledge or experience with protection relays and other substation equipment
- Knowledge of basic engineering theory, practices, and procedures
