Job summary

Prolec-GE Waukesha, Inc. seeks a Transformer Bid Engineer to prepare technical proposals and bid packages for power transformers. You will coordinate between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and customers to deliver technically compliant, competitive bids with optimized cost and manufacturability.

The role requires a solid understanding of transformer design principles, industry standards, and cost-effective production processes, with strong communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in transformer design, bid engineering, or related field.
• Experience with power transformer design preferred.
• Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, IEC, and NEMA specs.
• Ability to interpret complex customer specifications and technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review customer inquiries, RFQs, bid specs, and contract documents.
• Develop transformer designs meeting performance and cost targets.
• Prepare accurate bid packages including thermal design.
• Perform design evaluations to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate bid activities to ensure timely proposals.
• Support Sales and Engineering during technical discussions.
• Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction.
