Job summary

Nidec Motor Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineer to define STATCOM solutions by analyzing customer specifications and grid requirements. You will adapt products to meet project needs, develop single-line diagrams, and create AutoCAD layouts while coordinating with customers and EPCs.

The role requires hands-on experience with Power Quality, FACTS technologies and MV/HV substation projects, plus strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering (Power Engineering preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Power Quality, STATCOM/FACTS, or MV/HV substation projects.
• Experience with electrical design, SLDs, layout/interface definitions and coordination with customers and EPCs.
• Familiarity with utility/substation requirements including grounding and cabling concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer specifications, grid requirements and project input to define the optimal STATCOM solution.
• Adapt Nidec products to meet customer and project requirements using a client-oriented approach.
• Develop and review SLDs and AutoCAD general layouts for the solution.
• Prepare technical offers and purchasing specifications for outsourced components.
• Conduct site surveys and evaluate space, installation, grounding and interface requirements.
• Review installation concepts including equipment layout and cable routing; interface with customer equipment.
