Job summary

CM Mission Critical Engineering, LLC is seeking a Power Studies Engineer to perform advanced electrical analyses, including short-circuit, arc‑flash, and load flow studies for mission‑critical environments. You will model, research, and collaborate with mechanical and project teams to deliver high‑quality electrical solutions.

The role requires independent work with coordination across disciplines, maintaining current standards knowledge, and presenting findings to clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant electrical power systems or mission‑critical engineering experience.
• Experience performing studies using SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or comparable tools.
• Proficiency with Neher McGrath based calculation software such as Cymcap, or AmpCalc is a plus.
• Familiarity with IEEE 3002.3, IEEE 1584, NFPA 70E, NFPA 70, and UL standards.

Responsibilities

• Utilize power system analysis tools to perform short-circuit, arc‑flash, protective device coordination, load flow, and power quality studies.
• Develop and refine analytical workflows by establishing best practices, automating processes, and streamlining modeling procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of electrical power systems research, industry standards, and emerging trends in mission critical electrical design.
• Prepare and present findings through technical reports, one line diagrams, study summaries, and client‑facing presentations.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines while independently managing analysis tasks, modeling accuracy, and project deliverables.
• Communicate effectively with contractors to obtain information for power studies and provide consultation on device coordination.
