Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Power Generation Engineer to join the Power Systems Engineering team at Starbase, TX. The role involves designing, building, operating, and maintaining microgrids and high-power electrical infrastructure to support Starship production and launch activities.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead projects, and ensure safety and reliability through rigorous design and documentation. Travel to other company facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of experience in power systems design, analysis, and build, with a focus on high-power, high-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and maintain microgrids at Starbase, TX.
• Lead projects and drive rapid improvements across launch sites.
• Scale high-power launch and grid infrastructure to production targets.
• Create sitewide power budgets, monitoring, and metering for mission-critical assets.
• Develop standardized designs for launch and power delivery facilities.
• Perform detailed electrical power system design work (one-lines, three-lines, SCADA, wiring diagrams, etc.).
• Develop protective relay settings for high voltage equipment.
• Maintain design and asset documentation for Starbase facilities.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70, 70B, 70E, NESC, and IEEE standards.
