Job summary

SpaceX's High Power Engineering team is seeking a Sr. Power Systems Engineer (Starship) to design, build, operate, and maintain high‑power electrical infrastructure for Starship's production and launch operations at Starbase, TX.

You will work with cross‑functional teams to scale microgrids and ensure reliable energy delivery for mission-critical assets. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 8+ years of experience, and a PE license or active pursuit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in power systems design and analysis.
• PE license or active pursuit preferred.
• Experience with high-power, high-voltage systems up to 345 kV.
• Proficiency with ETAP/SKM/PowerWorld and Matlab/Simulink.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and maintain microgrids for Starbase, TX.
• Lead cross-functional projects and drive rapid improvements at launch sites.
• Develop sitewide power budgets, monitoring, and metering.
• Create standardized designs for launch, propellant generation, and power delivery.
• Perform detailed power system design work including diagrams and schematics.
• Implement protective relay schemes for high voltage equipment.
• Maintain design and asset documentation and ensure NFPA/IEEE compliance.
