Job summary

RoviSys’ Power & Energy division seeks a Power Systems Controls Engineer to join our team in Ohio. You will contribute to defining, developing, testing and implementing Microgrid, Power System Automation and EPMS solutions using leading automation technologies.

Responsibilities include creating Functional Specifications, supporting Electrical Designers, developing PLC/DCS/RTAC/IED/HMI solutions, and conducting FAT/SAT, loop checks, start-up and commissioning, plus customer training and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• 3–6 years of relevant controls experience.
• Experience with automation functions and protocols (SEL, Rockwell, Siemens, Modbus, IEC-61850, etc.).
• Familiarity with Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850, OPC, BACnet in power systems.
• Travel ~25% for customer meetings and field duties.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop Functional Specifications, including SOO and BOMs.
• Support Electrical Designers to develop project drawing packages.
• Develop, test and deploy PLC, DCS, RTAC, IED and HMIs for Power System Automation.
• Develop Test Plans for FAT and SAT and support test execution.
• Support loop checks, start-up and commissioning activities.
• Perform formal and informal customer training as required.
• Troubleshoot existing systems that may be malfunctioning.
