The opportunity

As a member of our Grid & Power Quality Solutions (GPQS) team in Raleigh, you will work with cutting-edge FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) technology, enabling power system owners to enhance capacity and stability with minimal environmental impact. How you'll make an impact

  • Conduct power system studies using various simulation platforms.

  • Analyze and verify the performance of FACTS plants in the connected grid.

  • Perform voltage regulation and operation studies during wide-area disturbances.

  • Engage in power oscillation damping and sub-synchronous interaction analysis.

  • Investigate failures and tune advanced controllers.

  • Create detailed reports and present findings to customers.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project and tender deliveries.

  • Participate in customer meetings to understand and address their needs.


Your background

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a related field.

  • Ten years of experience in power systems and control system analysis.

  • Proficiency in PSCAD, RTDS, PSSE, or other power system simulation tools.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

  • Extensive knowledge of high-power electronic converters and their control.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality results.

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
