Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Power Platform/RPA Developer to deliver end-to-end development across Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Pages, and Copilot Studio. You will automate processes, build web apps, and design AI-powered solutions to improve enterprise efficiency.

Qualifications

Description

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power Platform/RPA Developer to provide comprehensive custom development support across the full Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem, including Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Pages, and Copilot Studio. The selected candidate will work closely with business units, process owners, and cross‑functional stakeholders to automate manual and repetitive processes, deliver web‑based applications, and develop AI‑powered solutions that improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of enterprise operations.

The candidate is expected to deliver 15–20 new Power Automate bots and 4–8 new Power Apps annually in production, while maintaining all existing and newly developed solutions. Additionally, the candidate will support the design and delivery of Power Pages web solutions and Copilot Studio AI assistant implementations, providing strategic guidance to ensure full adoption and utilization of all implemented technologies.

Power Automate & Power Apps Development
  • Design, develop, configure, implement, and maintain Power Automate workflows and bots to meet the evolving requirements of various business units.
  • Design, develop, configure, implement, and maintain Power Apps solutions (Canvas and Model‑Driven) tailored to business unit needs.
  • Communicate with business units to guide them through the solution implementation process, demonstrate product features, refine requirements, translate business processes into use cases, and facilitate resolution of data and technological challenges.
  • Plan and conduct thorough testing and debugging of Power Automate and Power Apps solutions, delivering test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test results for complex solutions.
  • Develop all solutions in strict adherence to security, data privacy and protection, regulatory, compliance, and performance standards, requirements, and guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for all Power Automate bots and Power Apps solutions in production, including troubleshooting, implementing enhancements, and optimizing performance. Support scope will expand to include solutions developed under legacy contracts (e.g., MCSS contract) as they transition.
  • Work with process owners and stakeholders to proactively identify automation opportunities.
  • Plan and track development efforts using Agile methodology, managing requirements through Epics, Features, User Stories, and Tasks using the organization's approved Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tool.
  • Provide technical guidance on Power Automate and Power Apps best practices and methodologies.
  • Develop and deliver detailed solution documentation and best practice guides, including process documentation, workflow diagrams, knowledge base articles, manuals, and training materials to facilitate knowledge transfer and organizational self‑sufficiency.
  • Build solutions that leverage the latest capabilities and enhancements of Power Automate and Power Apps releases.
  • Integrate Power Apps seamlessly with existing enterprise systems and data sources.
  • Develop APIs and custom connectors as needed to enhance interoperability between Power Apps and other enterprise applications.
  • Propose and implement monitoring and analytics solutions leveraging existing organizational tools to track the performance of Power Apps solutions.
  • Utilize data insights to optimize Power Apps performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Provide support services during non‑core business hours and weekends as needed (anticipated no more than once per quarter) for solution updates and activities that have the potential to interrupt business operations, coordinated in advance with the client.
Power Pages Development
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, gather, and document Power Pages requirements using user stories, use cases, or other appropriate requirement specification types.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess Power Pages' ability to meet identified organizational needs.
  • Design web pages in alignment with requirements and organizational standards.
  • Develop and implement custom solutions using Microsoft Power Pages.
  • Plan and track development efforts using an Agile methodology, managing requirements through Epics, Features, User Stories, and Tasks using the organization's approved ALM tool.
  • Plan and conduct thorough testing and debugging of Power Pages solutions, delivering test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test results for complex solutions.
  • Build solutions that adhere to security, compliance, and performance standards.
  • Develop solutions with responsive design to ensure accessibility across various devices and platforms.
  • Integrate Power Pages with other Microsoft Power Platform components, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Customize web pages to enhance user experience and functionality.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and gather stakeholder and end‑user feedback.
  • Deploy developed Power Pages solutions within the organizational environment.
  • Develop and deliver training and support documentation for end‑users and administrators.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for all Power Pages solutions in production.
  • Implement updates and improvements based on user feedback and technological advancements.
Copilot Studio Development
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document Copilot Studio solution requirements using user stories, use cases, or other appropriate requirement specification types.
  • Utilize Copilot Studio to analyze existing systems and suggest potential improvements and AI‑driven enhancements.
  • Communicate with business units to guide them through the Copilot solution implementation process, share product features, refine requirements, translate business processes into use cases, and facilitate resolution of data and technological challenges.
  • Seamlessly integrate new Copilot solutions with existing enterprise systems and data sources.
  • Plan and track development efforts using an Agile methodology, managing requirements through Epics, Features, User Stories, and Tasks using the organization's approved ALM tool.
  • Plan and conduct thorough testing and debugging of Copilot solutions, delivering test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test results for complex solutions.
  • Build all Copilot solutions in adherence to organizational security, compliance, and performance standards.
  • Develop and deliver detailed end‑user documentation for all implemented Copilot solutions.
  • Establish monitoring mechanisms to track the performance, accuracy, and effectiveness of implemented Copilot solutions.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for all Copilot Studio solutions in production, quickly addressing any issues or performance concerns as they arise.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • BS and 5-7+ years of hands‑on experience developing solutions with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Pages, Copilot Studio) (4 years experience in lieu of a degree)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust requiring U.S. Citizenship.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and deploying Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions using Power Automate Desktop and cloud flows.
  • Proficiency in Power Apps (Canvas Apps and Model‑Driven Apps) development and deployment.
  • Experience with Power Pages (formerly Power Portals) design, development, and customization.
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio (formerly Power Virtual Agents) for designing and deploying AI‑powered assistants and chatbots.
  • Strong understanding of API development, custom connectors, and enterprise system integrations.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL, and other enterprise data sources.
  • Solid understanding of security, data privacy, compliance, and governance standards within the Power Platform ecosystem.
  • Experience developing and delivering technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge base articles.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate complex business processes into scalable technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft certifications, including one or more of the following:
  • PL-200: Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant
  • PL-400: Microsoft Power Platform Developer
  • PL-500: Microsoft Power Automate RPA Developer
  • PL-900: Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals
  • AI-900: Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals
  • Experience with Power BI for monitoring, reporting, and analytics integration.
  • Familiarity with responsive web design principles and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1).
  • Experience supporting Citizen Developer programs and end‑user training initiatives.
  • Prior experience working in a government or highly regulated enterprise environment with strict compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and Liquid templating for Power Pages customization.
  • Experience with Azure AI Services and Large Language Model (LLM) integrations within Copilot Studio.
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and analytics platforms for tracking solution performance and usage.
