A leading IT solutions provider is searching for a Power Platform/D365 specialist in Herndon, VA. This full-time position requires a minimum of 5 years experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Dataverse) and 2 years in HTML/CSS/JavaScript. Dept of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) is seeking a Power Platform/D365.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, test, maintain and document Microsoft Power Platform and D365 solutions
• Deliver all development and test applications and results to agree upon specifications in agreed upon time frames (or coordinate with supervisor in advance if time frames do not appear to be able to be met)
• Conduct thorough testing and document results
• Identify and implement best practices for naming conventions, environment strategies, security and application life-cycle management
• Implement all applications such that the applications and associated architecture and integrations are performing well, secure, and are managed in a way that does not cause disruption or data integrity issues
• Promote applications successfully through appropriate environments while maintaining proper change control (including documentation and rollback procedures)
• Produce technical documentation that is suitable for application support
• Mentor and guide DPOR staff in the development and use of solutions using the Power Platform / D365 tool and provide technical consultation, training and guidance on best practices, solution design and governance standards
• Collaborating with business users and IT leads to understanding and documenting solution requirements and functionality. Develops comprehensive solution documentation, including operational support manuals, user guides, workflow diagrams and training materials
• Actively coordinates with the Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) that provisions DPOR's Power Platform and D365 Environments to administer the environments.
• Engages with appropriate VITA and DPOR personnel in agreed upon timeframe to ensure that all assigned applications are running appropriately, securely and in a performant manner.
• Verifies that application data, integrations and environments are properly secured, backed up, retained and recoverable in accordance with approved backup schedules and disaster recovery standards

Required Skills and Experience

• 5 years of experience in Power Platform Experience - specifically Power Apps - canvas and model driven apps, Dataverse, Power Automate and Power Pages
• 3 years of experience in
  • D365 Customer Service Module, Role-based security configuration in Power Platform D365
  • Working experience with solution management (managed / unmanaged), environmental variables and reusable components
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint Online architecture and security fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of solution architecture, data modeling and performance querying, Azure functions and API integration
  • Working knowledge of custom components, reusability patterns and custom connectors
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, strategy, documentation and cross-team collaboration skills
• Experience mentoring and training others
• 2 years of experience in
  • HTML/CSS/Javascript for UI customizations
  • Experience with Agile delivery, backlog refinement and stakeholder communication
  • CI/CD experience (Power Platform Pipelines / Git Hub)
  • Unit Testing and test automation
