Yakshna Solutions, Inc. seeks a Power BI Developer to design, build, and maintain reporting and analytics solutions across agency divisions. This full-time contract engagement initially lasts one year and includes opportunities to work with Dataverse, SQL Server, Azure, and Cosmos DB.

Location: 1300 E Main Street, Richmond, VA (Hybrid). Salary: $95,000-$100,000 annually with benefits. The role requires strong DAX, Power Query, SQL, and data modeling skills, plus collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of BI/reporting with Power BI and data visualization.
• 3+ years with DAX and Power Query.
• 3+ years SQL querying and 2+ years dimensional modeling.
• Experience with Dataverse/Dynamics 365 and implementing Row-Level Security.
• Ability to work independently with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Build reporting solutions on Dataverse data models.
• Develop data connections and transformations with Power Query; SQL Server, Azure Blob Storage, Cosmos DB.
• Develop DAX measures and semantic model relationships.

YSI is seeking a Power BI Developer. to design, build, and maintain reporting and analytics solutions supporting business divisions across the agency. This is a full-time contract engagement with an initial term of one year and the option to extend.

Responsibilities Include:

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models supporting business divisions and product teams across the agency.
• Build reporting solutions on established Dataverse data models, working with existing tables, relationships, and security configurations rather than defining the underlying data layer.
• Develop data connections and transformations using Power Query against additional sources as required, including SQL Server, Azure Blob Storage, and Cosmos DB.
• Develop and optimize DAX measures, calculated columns, and semantic model relationships for accuracy and performance.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, define measures and metrics, and translate business questions into usable visualizations.
• Support reporting needs across multiple product teams and divisional efforts, with assignment and prioritization directed by the SCC Power Platform and business intelligence lead.
• Support short-duration, time-sensitive reporting requests as agency priorities require.
• Implement reports in accordance with established workspace structure, dataset management, and row-level security standards, and contribute recommendations to strengthen those standards.
• Apply appropriate handling of sensitive and restricted data in accordance with SCC data classification and security requirements, building to established security design.
• Maintain and enhance existing reports and datasets, including performance tuning, refresh troubleshooting, and defect resolution.
• Document semantic models, measure definitions, data sources, and refresh dependencies to support ongoing SCC maintenance and knowledge retention.
• Support end user adoption through report walkthroughs and knowledge transfer to business users and SCC staff.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and requirements discussions.

Required Skills and Experience

• 4+ years of experiencedeveloping business intelligence and reporting solutions usingMicrosoft Power BI, with strong data visualization, report design, usability, and stakeholder requirements-gathering skills.
• 3+ years of experience with DAX and Power Query/M, including measure development, time intelligence, performance optimization, row/filter context, and data transformation.
• 3+ years of SQL experiencequerying relational data sources, plus2+ years of dimensional and semantic data modeling, including star schema design and relationship management.
• 2+ years of experiencebuilding Power BI reports usingDataverse/Dynamics 365data and implementing/testingRow-Level Security (RLS); experience with Power BI Service administration, workspaces, apps, gateways, refreshes, and deployments.
• Ability towork independently and manage competing prioritieswhile collaborating
