Job summary

Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) Des Moines is seeking a Power Plant Utility/Operator for a Co-Generation plant. The role supports daily operations, including boiler and equipment monitoring, water treatment and routine maintenance on a rotating 12-hour shift.

The position requires willingness to work outdoors/indoors in industrial conditions, with PPE, and evolving responsibilities toward Operator roles. Two years of related experience or relevant degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years power plant or relevant manufacturing experience preferred.
• Relevant degree in power plant operations preferred.
• Basic math, science, problem-solving, computer, and mechanical skills.
• ADM requires successful completion of a background check.
• Shift work and ability to work in extreme conditions with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety, quality and integrity while following operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Perform daily rounds, inspections and preventative maintenance on boilers, pumps, compressors, fans, cooling towers and related equipment.
• Operate valves and controls to start/stop systems as directed by the Operator.
• Collect and test water samples; monitor chemical levels and handle treatment chemicals.
• Maintain logs and records; assist with material handling and housekeeping.
