Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a CSU Manager to lead startup activities on a large Renewables & Clean Power project. The role will oversee startup planning, testing, energizing, and handover to operations, ensuring compliance with project procedures and safety standards.

Based in Reston, VA, the role requires extensive experience in commissioning and testing of high voltage power projects, with strong collaboration and client negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s or master’s degree (or international equivalent) with 13–15 years or 17–19 years of experience.
• Specializes in commissioning, integration and handover.
• Experience managing testing and handover for large HV power projects.
• Knowledge of industry standards and design criteria for commissioning.
• Strong negotiation skills with clients.

Responsibilities

• Directs startup and operations on the project and coordinates field startup activities.
• Develops policies, procedures, and plans for startup within the office or project.
• Supervises engineers, plans staffing, and assigns work to meet schedules.
• Prepares operations manuals and ensures work stays within scope and budget.
• Provides input to ensure startup activities are integrated with project designs.
• Coordinates with management, engineering, construction, and client during startup and testing.
• Oversees client approvals and reviews startup methods and schedules.
• Conducts performance reviews and mentors staff.
