Job summary
American Electric Power is seeking a Plant Engineer to provide technical leadership and engineering support for safe, reliable, and compliant operations at Turk Powerplant in Fulton, AR. You will monitor performance, troubleshoot equipment, and coordinate capital projects with vendors and internal teams.
The role requires ABET-accredited engineering education, 2+ years of experience (master’s degree may count for entry), and a PE license is preferred.
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited engineering degree required or equivalent.
- Two+ years of related engineering experience; master’s degree may count for entry at higher level.
- P.E. license preferred; VP or above may waive non-ABET requirement.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for plant operations and maintenance, diagnose issues and implement corrective actions.
- Perform structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis to improve reliability.
- Monitor plant operating data to identify performance gaps affecting availability and efficiency.
- Support and execute reliability programs (vibration, thermography, oil analysis, controls diagnostics).
- Maintain configuration control and technical documentation, including MOC records.
