Job summary

CAMS is seeking a Production Technician Operator C at the Bethlehem Energy Center in Glenmont, NY. You will help start/stop gas and steam turbine units and operate associated equipment in a safe, compliant manner.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of power generation experience preferred, and basic First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, LTD/STD, life insurance, 401k, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years Power Generation experience preferred.
• Fundamental knowledge and experience with mechanical equipment, process systems, steam and electrical theory related to duties of job.
• Must be qualified in basic First Aid, CPR / AED.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and care for various auxiliary equipment in a combined cycle generating station.
• Start and stop equipment under normal or emergency conditions.
• Assist in providing detailed training of lower-grade Operators.
• Perform safe Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Perform electrical switching operations.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment and controls (mechanical and electrical).
• Perform routine operational tests including water and steam chemistry.
• Perform rigging activities and inspections on equipment.
• Serve as backup to Lead Production Technician Storekeeper as needed.
• Perform additional duties around the plant as directed by supervision.
• Communicate plant conditions to others.
• Maintain daily housekeeping around the facility.
