Job summary

Basin Electric Power Cooperative in Williston, ND seeks an Operator Technician (Level DOE) to operate and maintain gas turbine and reciprocating engine generating units, electrical, mechanical, and control systems from the plant control room.

The role requires a certificate or associate degree in Process Technology or Power Generation Technology, or a high school diploma with 2 years related maintenance/ops experience and a valid driver's license; rotating shifts up to 12 hours.

Qualifications

• Completion of a certificate program or associate degree in Process Technology or Power Generation Technology or related field.
• High school diploma or GED with 2 years of maintenance or operations experience in an industrial coal-based/combustion turbine or combined cycle plant.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain gas turbine and reciprocating engine generating units and related plant systems.
• Perform preventive, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and troubleshoot equipment.
• Enter outages and de-rates in PCI system and monitor SPP Day-ahead market awards.
