Job summary

Medxcel is seeking a Facilities Technician to support the Birmingham, AL site (St. Vincent's East Hospital). The role focuses on operating and maintaining power generation and HVAC systems, monitoring equipment, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure reliable facility operations.

You will handle outage responses, document operational data, and participate in trainings and projects as part of a dedicated facilities team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Graduate of trade school is preferred/beneficial.
• 2 years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Operates and controls primary power generation and HVAC systems, including boilers, turbines, generators, reactors, chillers, and cooling towers using control boards and computers.
• Monitors facility equipment, meters, gauges, and charts at regular intervals to regulate power flow, adjust fluid levels, and detect operational problems.
• Performs preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to prevent equipment deterioration or failure.
• Records and compiles operational data in logs, forms, and reports, and documents equipment malfunctions to ensure accurate tracking of plant status.
• Responds to power outages and emergencies by handling outage calls, summoning necessary personnel, and participating in mandatory meetings, training, and special projects.
