Reports to Vice President of Operations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities/Functions
- Operate boilers and controls.
- Train and supervise students on operation and repair of equipment as assigned.
- Provide routine and emergency services.
- Troubleshoot, supervise, and/or make repairs on gas and fuel pressure lines, boilers, heaters, pumps, compressors, motors, controllers, reducing station, heat exchangers, generators diesel/gas.
- Schedule and supervise external contractors hired for work related to heating systems.
- Direct repairs to boiler work such as tube, header and brickwork, casing work and flue work.
- Install heating system equipment as required.
- Order oil and gas deliveries.
- Prepare and maintain records on treatment, oil, gas and chemicals consumption and steam and hot water production.
- Cooperate and work with State and other inspector’s, as required.
- Participate in institutional professional development and training.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Assist with general campus facilities maintenance as necessary.
Qualifications (Skills and Abilities Required)
- 5 years of boiler operations experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of combustion and mechanical process equipment and process diagrams such as P&ID’s.
- Strong communication skills in both written and oral form, including following operating procedures.
- Ability to work independently and on teams with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software applications (e.g., Allen Bradley equipment, Rockwell software, Windows) with the capacity to learn others such as DCS control systems.
- Knowledge of or the ability to learn local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, RCRA, NRC, DOT).
- Physical ability to climb ladders, wear PPE including respirators, hearing protection, and fall protection.
- Handle/move materials and equipment in excess of 25 lbs. (e.g., 55-gallon drums).
- This position is classified as “essential personnel,” requiring occasional on-call responses to operational or emergency situations.
Working Conditions
- Primarily working across all areas of the college campus, indoors and outdoors, performing various tasks and responsibilities.
- Must be able to work outdoors, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and handle the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, operating equipment for long periods, and working in all weather conditions.
Supervisory Responsibility
- No direct supervisory responsibilities, but expected to serve as the lead point of contact for the facilities team.
