Job summary

WECTEC Staffing Services seeks an experienced Power Plant Operator to support operations at the Middletown, CA facility. You will oversee the safe, reliable operation of plant equipment, perform startups/shutdowns, monitor systems, and troubleshoot issues while coordinating with maintenance teams.

Responsibilities include recording data in CMMS such as Maximo, responding to alarms, and ensuring environmental and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of power plant operations experience preferred.
• Experience with DCS/SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of LOTO procedures and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate power generation equipment from control room and field.
• Perform plant startups, shutdowns and system alignments.
• Record operating data and performance metrics.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support maintenance activities including LOTO and equipment isolation.
• Respond to plant upsets, alarms and emergencies.
• Operate auxiliary systems such as pumps and cooling water systems.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety and operating regulations.
