Westinghouse Electric Company’s WECTEC Staffing Services is seeking an experienced Operations and Maintenance Technician II/III for a Wilmington, Delaware assignment. The role is a temporary contract with potential to convert to full-time based on performance.

You will support safe, reliable plant operation, perform maintenance, and oversee tasks on rotating schedules and outages. The position requires a high school diploma or vocational training with 4 years’ related experience or completion of

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Vocational School education.
• Four years of experience in power plant operations, maintenance, or equivalent.
• Or completion of three post-secondary accredited courses in electricity, electronics, instrumentation, or related field.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• EEI TECH Test must be passed.
• TWIC required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment and systems.
• Monitor equipment performance and operating conditions for safe and efficient plant operation.
• Record, evaluate, and maintain maintenance data, logs, and reports.
• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, drawings, and procedures.
• Respond to emergency and non-routine conditions to ensure safety and continuity of service.
• Participate in planned maintenance activities and repairs.
• May oversee work of other technicians or contractors.

About the role:

Wilmington, Delaware

We are looking for an experienced Operations and Maintenance Technician II or III to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of power plant equipment and systems. You will perform and assist with operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs of plant equipment while ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational standards.

You will report directly to the Plant Manager, and this position is in Wilmington, Delaware. This is a temporary contract opportunity with the potential to convert to a full-time position based on individual performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and assist with maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment and systems.
• Monitor equipment performance and operating conditions to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
• Observe, record, evaluate, and maintain operational and maintenance data, logs, and reports.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, drawings, and operating procedures.
• Respond to emergency and non-routine operating conditions to maintain personnel safety and continuity of service.
• Participate in planned maintenance activities, inspections, and corrective repairs.
• May oversee the work of technicians, contractors, or personnel of similar or lower classifications.
• At the top progression level, you may require operating control room systems and overseeing contractor activities in the absence of management.
• Work rotating shifts, scheduled maintenance outages, overtime, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours to support plant operations.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Vocational School education.
• Four (4) years of experience in power plant operations, power plant maintenance, industrial maintenance, military technical training, or an equivalent technical environment.

OR

• Completion of three (3) post-secondary accredited courses in electricity, electronics, instrumentation, or a related field that are acceptable to the company.
• Valid driver's license required.
• We must award the position only after you pass the EEI TECH Test.
• Must have or obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within six (6) months of hire.
