Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Utilities and Energy Management team seeks a Manager of Mechanical Maintenance to lead maintenance for the Power Plant and Chilling Stations. You will guide technical staff, implement predictive and preventive programs, and ensure reliable energy delivery to campus.

This exempt, full-time role requires a engineering degree, supervisory experience, and strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline with four years of equipment reliability experience.
• Four years of experience in electricity, steam, chilled water generation, and distribution systems.
• At least four years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• Ability to communicate conditioned based maintenance concepts like vibration and oil analysis.
• Proven track record of leadership and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance actions for power plant and chilling stations to reduce downtime.
• Develop and manage conditioned-based maintenance programs and train staff.
• Lead predictive and preventive maintenance and report metrics.
• Provide support to maintenance departments and ensure compliance with safety and policy.
• Participate in capital project oversight and review drawings for major projects.
• Work shifts and on-call as needed.
