Job summary

International Paper in Mississippi seeks an Area Manufacturing Excellence Leader (AMEL) – a senior process engineer responsible for safety, quality, productivity and cost reduction in the Power Area at the Vicksburg Mill. This role reports to the Mill Manufacturing Excellence Leader and focuses 75% on cost reduction and deliberate improvement.

You'll mentor REACH and Process Engineers, develop leaders, coordinate with BU and area managers, and drive ME projects with budget accountability.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or related field required.
• Strong manufacturing management background with a track record of results.
• Experience with continuous improvement concepts and tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety leadership and promote safe work practices in mill.
• Apply ME principles to daily operations for continuous improvement.
• Identify and execute cost reduction/deliberate improvement projects.
• Support identification of opportunities and contribute to budget planning.
• Mentor engineers and develop future operations leaders.
