Job summary

NRG is seeking an instrumentation technician to provide maintenance support for boilers, turbines, generators, and related controls. You will troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and protective relays, reading P&ID’s and blueprints to identify issues and execute repairs.

The role requires strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, experience with test equipment, and the ability to document work thoroughly.

Qualifications

• Associates’ Degree or equivalent education in instrumentation, pneumatics, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Two (2) years military experience in electronics repair and calibration may be substituted for formal training.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support to troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation for plant equipment.
• Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot and maintain protective relays and control systems.
• Read P&ID’s and blueprints to locate and repair plant systems and interlocks.
• Use test equipment and hand tools to troubleshoot devices and systems.
• Complete written/electronic records for work orders and calibrations.
