Job summary

Freres Engineered Wood in Oregon is seeking a Power Plant Utility/Loader to operate a 936 front-end loader, a skid steer and a forklift per training standards. Once trained, the Utility/Loader may perform lift-truck tasks across job functions (60% of time).

The role also covers cleanup of conveyors and roofs, plus safe operation checks, daily maintenance, and hazard awareness. Working a 4-10 hour shift schedule, holidays included, and a valid Oregon driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Able to work under limited supervision.
• Self-starter / Motivated
• Some mechanical background preferred.
• Safety-minded and able to follow procedures.
• Experience on machinery.
• Able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Check loader to ensure safe operating condition and complete daily maintenance checks.
• Operate 936 front-end loader, skid steer and forklift as trained (60% of time).
• Maintain equipment lubricated and fueled; follow safety procedures and Hazmat rules.
• Be alert to pedestrian traffic, surface conditions and hazards in plant areas.
• Know loader capacity and weight estimates; sound horn around blind corners.
• Follow refueling practices and wear protective gloves when refueling.
• Responsibilities may include assisting other branches.
