Job summary

Associated Electric Cooperative (AECI) invites student applicants for an Electrical Engineering internship at the Thomas Hill Power Plant for Summer 2027. This role offers hands-on work on electrical maintenance projects, bid evaluation, and documentation support.

You will help with relay upgrades, arc flash compliance, PLC systems maintenance, and predictive maintenance planning, while potentially earning course credit.

Qualifications

• Current students enrolled in Electrical Engineering or related field with at least two years completed toward a bachelor’s degree.
• Coursework in Circuit Theory is a must; Logic Design is a bonus.
• Strong attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Experience with relevant engineering software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Write bid specifications, evaluate construction bids, and support electrical maintenance and improvement projects.
• Contribute to plant relay upgrades, arc flash compliance, and electronic database development.
• Assist with documentation, programming, and maintenance of controls and PLC systems, plus predictive maintenance plans.
• Work full-time, Monday through Friday, with potential for course credit.
