Portland General Electric is seeking an Electrical Plant Designer to provide professional electrical design knowledge and on-site support at its thermal, hydro, and wind power plants and switchyards in Oregon.

This role involves drafting for design and as-built projects using AutoCAD, updating One Lines, and working with Engineering and Plant teams. The position offers hybrid work and opportunities to contribute to safe, reliable plant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering technology or related field or equivalent experience.
• Two+ years in electrical design, drafting or related field; familiarity with schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Valid Driver’s License; travel to generation facilities.
• P1 requires two years or fewer in electrical, mechanical or civil design/drafting.

Responsibilities

• Design work for electrical systems at power plants and switchyards.
• Use AutoCAD and other software to draft and modify drawings.
• Provide on-site support and field reports.
• Create, process and check as-built packages for projects.
• Ensure designs meet engineering principles, codes and standards.
• Support field investigations and plant turnover.
• Procure materials and monitor project progress.
