Job summary

Dominion Energy is offering a Spring 2027 co-op opportunity for a student to work with mechanical and electrical plant components at our Power Generation generating plants. You will assist with maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation equipment, including PLCs, VFDs, motor controllers, smart field devices, and DCS controls.

You will collaborate with qualified I&C journeymen and Operations staff to understand and support plant operation, in a role

Qualifications

Enrolled as a student at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College in a program leading to an associate degree.
Must be studying Electronics Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronics Technology, or General Technology (Mechatronics).
Have at least a 3.0 overall grade point average.
Graduation date in 2027 or 2028.

Responsibilities

Assist with maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation equipment of the generating unit at the assigned location.
Work with qualified I&C journeymen in maintenance of power plant equipment.
Work with Operations personnel to understand and assist with the operation of power plant equipment.
Work in a physical environment involving climbing, bending and lifting heavy power plant equipment, and standing for prolonged periods.
Occasionally work outdoors and during inclement weather.
