Job summary

Tennessee Valley Authority seeks an Electrical/I&C Engineer (Power Operations) at Kingston Fossil Plant to lead technical tasks across coal, gas and hydro units. You will evaluate electrical/Instrumentation & Controls needs, resolve equipment issues, and direct studies that optimize plant performance in line with business objectives.

The role requires strong problem solving, adherence to industry standards, and cross-functional collaboration with regional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electrical Controls, Computer or related engineering field.
• Professional Engineer licensure desirable; several years of progressive plant or field engineering experience.
• Competence demonstrated by completion of graduate progression or equivalent post-licensure experience.

Responsibilities

• Has technical responsibilities on Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) equipment and systems.
• Performs and directs studies to evaluate electrical/instrumentation needs for Coal, Gas & Hydro fossil plants.
• Assists plants in resolving equipment and system problems as requested; may perform cross-discipline engineering work to optimize plant equipment.
• Directs or conducts monitoring, analysis, evaluation, and investigation of plant systems and equipment.
• Leads improvements, repairs, maintenance, modifications, and retrofits to meet business plan objectives.
• Identifies deviations, determines root causes, and recommends optimum solutions; troubleshoots unresolved system problems.
• Serves as owner engineer for projects and Joint Project Teams; prepares specs and cost-benefit analyses for installations or upgrades.
• Oversees daily plant monitoring and testing by Technical Services Analysts; ensures changes to configuration are controlled and documented.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
