Job summary

AMD Austin seeks a Power IP and System Validation Engineer to drive post-silicon bring-up, characterization, and validation of analog and mixed-signal power-management IP for advanced AMD products.

You will work at the intersection of silicon, firmware, systems, and lab validation to optimize IP performance, troubleshoot hardware/software interactions, and support high-quality product delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Strong experience with post-silicon validation and lab debugging.
• Experience characterizing analog or mixed-signal IP on CPU/GPU/SoC platforms.
• Familiarity with board- and platform-level debug and power delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead post-silicon bring-up, characterization, and validation of analog and mixed-signal power-management IP.
• Develop characterization plans across voltage, frequency, temperature, and process conditions.
• Analyze silicon data and tune IP operating parameters and power sequences.
• Develop firmware routines to configure IP during boot and power-state transitions.
• Debug silicon failures by correlating lab measurements, traces, RTL, and schematics.
• Collaborate with design, RTL, firmware, validation, and production teams to resolve issues.
