Job summary

United Rentals is hiring a Power HVAC Mechanic (Service Tech II) in Hampton, VA. You will perform maintenance and minor repairs on diesel engines, HVAC, and dehumidification equipment, ensuring safe operation and quality service for rental and customer equipment.

Typical duties include diagnostics, documentation, equipment demonstrations, and occasional on-site travel. A HS diploma and 1–2 years of relevant experience are required, along with a valid driver's license and the ability to lift up

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines or HVAC equipment.
• Intermediate diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic systems.
• Basic understanding of schematics/diagrams.
• Own the tools applicable to the position.
• Strong customer service, teamwork and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and ability to lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment.
• Responsible for service documentation.
• Occasional travel to customer sites.
• Demonstrate equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
