Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. in Raleigh is seeking a Service Manager to lead a major maintenance operation within the Power/HVAC Division.

You’ll hire and motivate a team of Service Technicians and Equipment Associates to keep the fleet safe, reliable, and ready for rental, in close collaboration with the Branch Manager. You’ll supervise preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems, manage shop expenses, and drive improvements in service metrics while delivering

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of operations and shop management experience with background in repairing and maintaining the equipment listed.
• Intermediate to advanced diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and other systems.
• Advanced knowledge of heavy equipment, warranty process, and work order/time accounting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment (diesel generators, chillers, air conditioners, desiccants, load banks, etc.).
• Motivate, coach and train technicians to meet time and quality standards.
• Supervise Service Technicians and ensure safety policies are followed.
• Build strong customer relationships through high-quality, timely service.
• Manage shop expenses and lead continuous improvement of service metrics.
• Meet regularly with Branch Managers to discuss problems and solutions.
• Perform other duties as needed.
