Job summary

Ohio Cat Rental Store, a division of Ohio Machinery Co., seeks a Power Generation Service Technician to keep standby and prime power systems running for critical infrastructure across multiple industries.

This hands-on role requires diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning generator engines (500 kW–2,000 kW), reading electrical schematics, and documenting service reports to company standards. Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM in our Ohio shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of experience servicing power generation equipment, diesel engines, or related industrial systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on generator or engine rebuild experience.
• Solid knowledge of DC electrical systems and machine electronic controls.
• Ability to follow technical manuals, service procedures, and manufacturer updates.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair power generation equipment ranging from 500 kW to 2,000 kW
• Perform engine, mechanical, and electrical diagnostics on diesel generator systems
• Clean, recondition, overhaul, and rebuild generator engines and components
• Read and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Determine parts reusability per manufacturer guidelines and initiate salvage or replacement requests
• Accurately complete service reports and documentation
• Perform all work safely and in compliance with company and regulatory standards

As a Power Generation Service Technician, you’ll play a critical role in keeping large‑scale generator systems running for customers who depend on consistent, dependable power. This is hands‑on, technical work supporting standby and prime power applications across a wide range of industries.
