Job summary

Omaha Public Power District is seeking a Project Manager to lead the construction of three new generation units at Cass County Station. You will oversee day-to-day construction activities, coordinate contractors, manage schedules and permits, and deliver timely updates to sponsors and PMO leadership.

The role requires an Engineering-related degree, construction management experience in utilities, and a PMP or equivalent credential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
• Experience supporting or managing construction or utility projects.
• Strong understanding of construction practices, contractor coordination, and field issue resolution.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams, facilitate stakeholder alignment, and maintain detailed project documentation.
• Experience managing utility or power generation construction projects.
• Familiarity with permitting processes and compliance requirements.
• PMP certification or similar project management credentials.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities for new generation units at Cass County Station, ensuring schedule, scope, and safety alignment.
• Coordinate permitting and ensure compliance to support uninterrupted progress.
• Track progress using project management tools; update schedules and identify risks.
• Prepare project documentation and status updates for sponsors, leadership, and PMO management.
• Collaborate across Utility Operations to define scope, deliverables, dependencies, and resource needs.
