Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking a Mechanical/Millwright Inspector to oversee the safe installation of mechanical systems on power generation construction projects. You will inspect alignment, testing, and commissioning of rotating equipment, pumps, turbines, and related machinery, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, codes, and safety standards.

The role requires 5+ years of mechanical inspection or millwright experience in industrial settings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Inspector or Millwright in power generation or industrial construction.
• Experience with turbines, boilers, pumps, conveyors, rotating machinery, or large industrial equipment installation.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, mechanical specs, and QA/QC docs.
• Familiarity with ASME codes, API standards, and industrial construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of mechanical and millwright work including installation, alignment, and testing of mechanical equipment.
• Verify compliance with project drawings, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
• Inspect rotating machinery (pumps, fans, turbines, compressors) for proper alignment, fit, torque, and operating conditions.
• Document deficiencies, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
• Ensure welding, rigging, and mechanical assembly meet quality standards and safety requirements.
• Review contractor work plans, method statements, and quality procedures.
• Assist in resolving technical issues related to mechanical systems or equipment installation.
• Support commissioning teams with pre-operational checks and functional testing.
