Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources in Story City, IA, seeks a Power Generation Business Analyst - Central Maintenance to support O&M and capital budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting for the site.

You will plan and coordinate annual budgets, monthly reforecasts, and month-end close, ensuring SOX compliance and driving cost improvements through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration. A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in finance are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance or accounting.
• 3+ years of financial analysis or accounting experience.
• Experience with cost accounting and budgeting.
• SOX compliance knowledge and adherence.
• Strong Excel and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs cost accounting activities including variance analysis and standard cost development.
• Provides financial leadership to Operations leadership for decision-making.
• Supports new lines of business and identifies cost reductions per job.
• Generates reports for productivity, capital and overhead spending, forecasting and budgeting.
• Prepares and explains financial results to non-financial audiences.
• Communicates operational performance through P&L and metrics.
• Collaborates across departments and leads process improvement projects.
• Manages internal controls and mitigates control weaknesses.
• Extracts and analyzes data for business decisions and training.
• Participates in ongoing training to grow technical and communication skills.
