Job summary

Fabick Cat is seeking a Power Generation Field Service Technician to service marine propulsion, generators, HVAC and related equipment. You will read manuals, diagnose faults, and perform repairs in the field, often traveling extensively to customer sites.

The role requires EPA and DOT Medical Certifications, and a CDL is preferred. You’ll work with Caterpillar systems and use diagnostic tools to ensure optimal performance under challenging conditions.

Qualifications

• Technical, vocational, or trade school education required or equivalent experience.
• EPA Certification is required.
• DOT Medical Certification is required. CDL license is preferred.
• Must read and interpret machine electrical schematics.
• Willingness to travel for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Performs mechanical, electrical and troubleshooting work on marine propulsion and generator systems, HVAC equipment, chillers, and air compressors.
• Reads and interprets manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and service.
• Diagnose repair needs and perform repairs on Caterpillar equipment and other machines.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify faults across electrical, electronics and engines.
• Disassemble and reassemble components to manufacturer specifications.
