Job summary

ProPetro Services, Inc is seeking a Power Generation Electrical Technician to install, test, commission, and maintain low- and medium-voltage electrical systems for power generation and site infrastructure. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and operational readiness, collaborating with Operations, Commissioning, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of MV electrical experience, familiarity with NEC/OSHA requirements, and a Journeyman/Master Electrician

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of medium voltage electrical experience.
  • Field experience with data centers, micro-grids, mining, or industrial construction.
  • Certified Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician preferred.
  • Familiarity with NEC / country codes and OSHA/code requirements.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems supporting power generation assets.
  • Perform electrical terminations, cable routing, panel wiring, and equipment installation per drawings and commissioning plans.
  • Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, voltage/current measurements, phasing, and functional verification.
  • Troubleshoot faults, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Follow safety policies including LOTO and energized work controls; verify readiness before energization.
  • Document work performed and parts used in the CMMS system.

Job Summary

The Power Generation Electrical Technician performs installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of low‑and medium‑voltage electrical systems associated with power generation, balance‑of‑plant, and site electrical infrastructure. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, quality execution, and operational readiness, working closely with Operations, Commissioning, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.

Responsibilities
  • Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems supporting power generation assets, including generators, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS systems, protection devices, and auxiliary electrical equipment.
  • Perform electrical terminations, cable routing, panel wiring, and equipment installation in accordance with drawings, specifications, and commissioning plans.
  • Conduct electrical testing including insulation resistance (megger), continuity, voltage/current measurements, phasing, and functional verification.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults, identify root causes, and implement safe, effective corrective actions to restore system performance.
  • Execute all work in compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, company safety policies, and site‑specific procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and energized work controls.
  • Verify installation quality and operational readiness prior to energization or system turnover.
  • Participate in pre‑job planning, hazard analysis, and job safety briefings to ensure safe execution.
  • Documents work performed, diagnostic steps taken, and parts used in the company’s Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Must be safety conscious and willing to use stop work authority when necessary
  • Perform general housekeeping and routine maintenance of Company property, including but not limited to service vehicle and trailer.
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe driving practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Technical college training is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of previous medium voltage electrical experience.
  • Previous field experience with data centers, micro-grids, mining, or industrial construction.
  • Certified Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician preferred.
  • Familiarity with NEC / Country codes
  • Familiarity with OSHA / Code requirements
  • Fundamental understanding of natural gas reciprocating and turbine engines
  • Fundamental understanding of control systems and instrumentation
  • Fundamental understanding of power generators and electricity
  • Fundamental understanding of network protocols and communication devices
  • Maintaining a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, required
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, can interact in a professional manner with clients, team, and personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Personable, can maintain good rapport with organizational leadership, clients, and team
  • Must be driven, self-motivated, well-organized, and have good time management skills
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office 365 applications and able to quickly learn other work-related software
  • Must be physically able to sit or stand for long periods, work indoors and outdoors, and withstand extreme weather conditions
  • Must be physically able to safely operate a company vehicle day or night, on various road types, and in all weather conditions
