Job description

Play an integral role in delivering complex power generation projects that sit at the intersection of reliability, performance, and the global energy transition. You will operate at the point where engineering design, construction execution, and operational readiness converge—ensuring systems are fully integrated, tested, and optimized before handover. This role is both strategic and hands-on, giving you the opportunity to directly influence plant performance, safety outcomes, and long-term asset value.

Purpose of the role

Play an integral role in leading the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up of large-scale power generation facilities. You will ensure systems are installed, tested, and operated in a manner that achieves full operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and optimal performance. This position combines technical depth, operational expertise, and leadership to deliver safe and efficient project outcomes across the full lifecycle.

You will be responsible for
  • Providing overall commissioning leadership for combined cycle, cogeneration, and gas turbine power generation projects from planning through start-up and handover
  • Developing and executing commissioning strategies, including systemization, procedures, schedules, and resource planning
  • Integrating commissioning activities into the overall project execution plan, ensuring alignment with engineering, procurement, and construction milestones
  • Establishing start-up sequencing, logic, and durations to support project schedule development and execution
  • Managing commissioning teams, vendor partners, and specialist resources, including oversight of FAT and SAT activities for critical systems
  • Providing technical leadership across key plant systems, including boilers, gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, instrumentation, and balance-of-plant infrastructure
  • Conducting and supporting performance analysis, including thermal efficiency, heat rate evaluation, and system optimization using engineering tools
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable standards, codes, and regulatory requirements, supporting safe and compliant operations
  • Driving a strong safety culture throughout commissioning and start-up activities, including risk identification, mitigation planning, and field leadership
  • Validating operational readiness to ensure systems perform safely, reliably, and efficiently prior to turnover to operations
  • Supporting cost control, capital planning, and performance optimization across commissioning and start-up phases
  • Coordinating closely with project management, construction, operations, and client stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery and transition to operations
  • Supporting grid synchronization and operational readiness in coordination with transmission organizations
