Job description

Location: Milpitas, CA/ Austin, TX/ Seattle, WA (On-site)

OVERVIEW

LITEON designs and manufactures power supplies, keyboards, ODD, racks, enclosures, and liquid cooling for a variety of customers in the server, storage, networking, and consumer space. With headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan, and branch offices in the United States, LITEON is looking for a creative, best-in-class professional who will thrive in a fast-paced, highly technical environment. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication, leadership, and team-working skills and will be unafraid of stretching their talents in a dynamic organization where respect and knowledge are far more important than reporting structure. Collaboration with colleagues at all levels will be key to this person’s success at LITEON.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A Power Field Application Engineer (FAE) will serve as the elite technical bridge between LITEON’s advanced engineering teams in Asia and LITEON’s tier-one enterprise customers across the Americas- including primary ownership of the premier customer’s account. This is not a desk job or a passive support role. FAEs will be the face of LITEON’s power electronics capabilities in the field, deployed to solve complex, real-world hardware and firmware challenges where power meets the grid and the data center.

Based out of dedicated Location and customers, with regional coverage across the East-West Coasts and occasional deployments to Mexico, FAEs will own first-level failure analysis, drive New Product Introduction (NPI) cycles, and directly influence the reliability of next-generation AC-DC and DC-DC power delivery systems. If FAEs thrive at the intersection of hands-on lab diagnostic work and high-stakes client consulting, this role offers total technical autonomy and massive visibility.

  • Own the Customer Technical Interface: Act as the primary, authoritative technical voice during joint field deployments with LITEON’s commercial teams. FAEs will translate complex engineering realities into actionable insights for client executives and engineering leads.
  • Drive Rapid First-Level Failure Analysis (FA): Diagnose and resolve critical hardware and firmware anomalies directly on-site at customer facilities, minimizing system downtime and preserving critical account relationships.
  • Bridge Global Engineering Teams: Act as the critical pipeline for NPI programs, collaborating seamlessly with manufacturing and design teams in Asia to validate specs, execute on-site testing, and ensure localized compliance.
  • Execute High-Precision Lab Diagnostics & Rework: Perform hands-on debugging, voltage/current control loop tuning, and precision Surface Mount Device (SMD) circuit rework in local labs or client environments to deploy immediate engineering fixes.
  • Proactively Engineer Out Quality Risks: Identify systemic component or design vulnerabilities in the field before they impact scaling, guiding customers toward ideal topology selections and optimized overall configurations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Field Application Engineering, Power Design, or power electronics.
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC, DC/DC power supplies and analog circuit design.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware debugging using lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, electronic loads, power supplies).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer-facing skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Mandarin proficiency preferred, but not required.
  • Experience supporting data center, server, AI, or hyperscale power solutions preferred.
  • Experience working with cross-functional global engineering teams preferred.
BENEFITS

As a full-time employee, you'll have access to LITEON’s comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off in compliance with US labor requirements.
