Position: Warehouse Equipment Operator

1st Shift: 6:00AM to 10:00AM or 10:30AM to 2:30PM M-F

Hourly Rate: $19.00

Scholastic Book Fairs are wondrous in-person experiences that empower kids to discover books for themselves. We are currently in search of a Power Equipment Operator to help us manage our shipping dock and inventory movements.

SUMMARY

Be a part of the team who builds and delivers Book joy as a Power Equipment Operator - Level I. Join a dedicated team in an active environment where your daily activities of building a book fair include working safely, learning, demonstrating proficiency, and meeting all productivity and quality requirements of your essential duties and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate proficiency and effectiveness in functions of PEO – Level I, including inventory movements, cycle counts, perform daily equipment inspections, and asset storage.
  • Consistently meet minimum required production, accuracy, and quality standards for all work performed.
  • Follow all safety policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure work area is neat, clean, safe, and organized per operational standards.
  • May work on temporary projects associated with other position descriptions as part of individual and team development.

Qualifications

  • Certified to operate battery/gas-powered equipment including but not limited to forklifts, stock pickers, wave trucks, counterbalanced lifts, reach trucks, pallet jack and scissor lifts.
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
  • Strong team player with good verbal/written communication skills.
  • Basic experience and familiarity with computers and communication systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to lift boxes that weigh up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to lift boxes that weigh up to 30 lbs. to a height of 78” on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to push wheeled cases weighing in excess of 300 lbs. with an initial force of up to 50 lbs.
