Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering in the United States is seeking a mid-level electrical designer to support EPC project design for power generation. You will develop detailed raceway designs, cable trays, and above-ground conduit from concept through completion, collaborating with construction teams to ensure safe and cost-effective designs.

This role requires 5+ years in electrical design, experience with SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and NEC knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in electrical design.
• Power generation experience preferred.
• Experience with SmartPlant 3D.
• Experience with NEC.
• Ability to conceptualize in 3D environment.

Responsibilities

• Design cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion.
• Size conduits and cable tray fills per NEC.
• Route cables in 3D to generate a cable schedule.
• Layout electrical equipment in buildings.
• Develop 3D models from drawings and sketches.
• Check 3D models for interferences and constructability.
• Size pull boxes per NEC.
• Draft intermediate electrical drawings.
• Work with minimal supervision on standard designs.
• Set objectives aligned with the organization.
• Work efficiently to maximize productivity.
• Follow company standards to deliver quality work.
• Support project development with tasks.
• Participate in project meetings.
