Job summary

Eccalon LLC is seeking a Power Engineer with deep expertise in grid-scale energy generation, interconnection design, and storage integration. The ideal candidate will design and optimize infrastructure to enable solar and other distributed energy sources to charge battery systems, which power data centers and support the electric grid.

Candidates should have 5+ years in power systems, strong knowledge of DERs, energy management, and experience with interconnection standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years in power systems engineering with renewable integration and grid interconnects.
• Strong knowledge of high/medium/low voltage systems and DER control.
• Experience with data center power requirements and redundancy concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and model energy systems incorporating solar, wind, batteries, and conventional generation to support grid and data center loads.
• Develop interconnect strategies for safe, reliable connections between renewables, storage, and grid.
• Perform power flow, protection coordination, and stability studies using industry tools.
• Support microgrid and backup power system designs for mission-critical facilities.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and software engineers for system integration.
• Evaluate interconnection standards and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
• Engage with utilities and project developers to secure interconnection approvals.
