Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Power & Energy Project Manager for the Power & Energy PMO in Spring, TX. The role leads large, complex projects with budgets, schedules, and risk management while guiding team performance and maintaining client satisfaction.

You will develop proposals, cost estimates, and resource plans, oversee budgeting and change control, and participate in contract negotiations. Some travel and US remote work are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or related field, or equivalent experience in A/E/C, utility, EPC, or power delivery consulting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide PM leadership for large, complex projects including budgets, forecasts, margins and KPIs; monitor risk and track hours/expenses.
  • Lead development of proposals, cost estimates, scope, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, cost and change management.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, presentations, and meetings.
  • Provide regular project reporting to clients and leaders, flagging scope/budget risks with mitigations.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and drive satisfaction and retention.
  • Mentor staff for growth and development, enforcing QA/QC and standardized processes.
  • Adhere to safety policies and company code of conduct.
  • Travel to client/offices as needed and collaborate across teams.

Job Description

WSP is seeking a Power & Energy Project Manager for our Power & Energy Program Management Office in Spring, TX. The following location will also be considered: Houston, TX. The successful candidate may work remotely from a mutually acceptable location within the United States and must have the ability to travel to a WSP and/or Client office for periodic face-to-face meetings.

Your Impact
  • Provide PM leadership for larger scale/more complex projects ensuring contributors know what they are required to do and by when, preparing and overseeing relevant project budgets, forecasts, margins and KPIs, monitoring external events and risk contingencies, tracking hours and expenses, ensuring satisfactory performance, and managing the contractual obligations to deliver the project or assigned portfolio of assigned project(s) as defined in the contract.
  • Lead the development of project proposals, cost estimates, scope, schedules, and resource plans
  • Oversee management of budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, cost and change management and control.
  • Participate in the technical aspects of contract negotiation, presentations, and meetings.
  • Provide regular project reporting and updates to clients, technical leads, and business leaders, identifying any emergent issues with scope, risk, and/or budget and mitigation strategies.
  • Be the face of WSP for the client. Develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships with client by understanding their needs, providing tailored solutions, and ensuring consistent communication to drive satisfaction and retention.
  • Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development.
  • Adherence to proven processes and ability to develop new processes to standardize procedures.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and enforce project safety standards
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Project Management or Construction Management), Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience within an A/E/C firm, utility, EPC, or power delivery consulting environment.
  • 12+ years of relevant post education experience in a project management role within our industry.
  • Highly proficient understanding of project delivery process and strong background and experience in project management. Experience managing projects through a variety of delivery models (DBB, EPC, PDB).
  • Advanced proficiency with analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen to bridge the business and project management.
  • Advanced proficiency with interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively, persuasively, and tactfully with leadership, subcontractors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adjusting readily to the changing prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
  • Advanced proficiency with technical writing, office automation, relevant software, MS Office suite products (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint), technology, spreadsheets, and PM tools.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, subcontractors, consultants, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exists.
  • Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet project-specific needs.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $145,400 - $259,100

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $130,300 - $226,100

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
