Shield AI in Dallas, TX is seeking a Power Engineer II to design, analyze, and validate power electronics for our autonomous aircraft. You will own the hardware development cycle from concept to flight, including HV/LV systems, DC-DC converters, inverters, and battery management with embedded safety features.

The role requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and 1+ year of experience; familiarity with Altium and lab equipment is a plus.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer
• Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, component selection, circuit testing, and debugging
• Familiarity with Altium or equivalent
• Experience with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, power supplies, E-loads, multimeters

Responsibilities

• Design Power Electronics: HV and LV systems, DC-DC converters, inverters, motor controllers
• Design across power ranges from <1 kW to >10 kW
• Full-cycle hardware development from concept to flight
• PCB ownership and layout optimization for power density and EMI
• Safety, manufacturability and reliability-focused design
• Board bring-up, testing and HALT verification
• Cross-functional collaboration across Mechanical, CAD, Embedded, Software, Production
• Lead design reviews and manage project milestones
