Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power Supply Design Engineer to join our hardware engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and validate high-performance power supply systems ranging from 500W to 10kW. This includes AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters for a variety of applications in industrial, commercial, or renewable energy systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) including AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters from concept through production.

Define power architecture, select components, and create schematics for systems ranging from 500W to 10kW.

Perform simulations, worst-case analysis, and thermal assessments.

Lead PCB layout design with a focus on power integrity, EMI/EMC compliance, and thermal efficiency.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing engineers.

Conduct lab testing and validation: bring-up, debugging, and performance characterization.

Ensure designs meet safety (UL, CE) and EMI/EMC regulatory standards.

Support DVT, EVT, and production ramp-up activities.

Generate and maintain detailed design documentation.

Requirements
Must-Have:

3-10 years of hands-on experience in power supply design (AC/DC, DC/DC, or DC/AC).

Proven experience designing systems in the 500W to 10kW range.

Strong background in topologies such as buck, boost, flyback, PFC, full-bridge, LLC, etc.

Proficiency in PCB design and layout for high-power circuits using tools like Altium, OrCAD, or similar.

Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, thermal cameras, etc.).

Understanding of thermal management, EMI/EMC design, and compliance testing.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred:

Familiarity with digital control of power supplies (e.g., using microcontrollers or DSPs).

Experience with safety certifications (UL, CE, IEC).

Exposure to high-frequency magnetics and transformer design.

Experience with high-voltage systems (>400VDC or >240VAC).
