Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Laborer to assist electricians with material handling, assembling, and dismantling equipment, and keeping work areas clean at job sites.

This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to read basic drawings and safety instructions. Valid driver’s license may be required; expect lifting up to 50 lbs and operating equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to read safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Must be willing to follow instructions, ask clarifying questions, and handle materials up to 200 lbs; strong teamwork and customer service skills.
• Detail oriented with active listening and communication, including openness to diverse input.

Responsibilities

Summary

Mortenson is currently seeking an Electrical Laborer that will be responsible for safely assisting Electrical Helpers and Journeyman with material handling, assembling and dismantling of equipment, preparing work areas, and cleaning of machines and workspaces.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit utilizing various hand tools.
• Safely utilize hand and power tools after proper training (drills, crimpers, cutters, etc.).
• Lift, position, and fasten objects.
• Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools to be used by electrical trades.
• Operate Bobcat/Skid-steer equipment as required.
• Operate Forklift/Telehandler equipment as required.
• Operate Boom Lifts/Aerial Lifts equipment as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment.
• Work under immediate and close supervision according to standard instructions and established procedures.
• Effectively work and build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience preferred.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, blueprints and schematic drawings, and procedure manuals.
• Must be willing and able to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions; must be able to handle materials that can weigh up to 200 lbs; must possess strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, and professional customer service skills.
• Detail oriented; active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
