Job summary

Halliburton in Odessa, TX is seeking an entry-level Power Distribution Technician (PDT) Associate. Under direct mentorship you will gain hands-on experience with preventive/predictive maintenance, diagnostics and repair of electrical and electronic equipment at your location.

You will assist with LOTO, read schematics, work with Halliburton software and hardware, and help with rig up/down of electric frac equipment, including deploying medium‑voltage cables.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a technical certificate is required.
  • Developmental role involving three phase power distribution components up to 15,000 volts, PLC hardware, and cabling.
  • Role is developmental through OJT and trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Gain knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance, diagnostics and repairing equipment.
  • Assist mentor with LOTO of equipment and function testing to verify readiness.
  • Develop basic understanding of electronic/electrical schematics/drawings/prints.

  • Identify unsafe conditions and suspend site operations when needed.
  • Aim to break out as an independent PDT within 1 year.

  • This is an entry level position for maintenance personnel desiring a career path as a Power Distribution Technician(PDT).
  • Under direct mentorship, a PDT Associate will gain knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance, diagnostics and repairing a variety of electronic and/or electrical equipment relative to their assigned location.
  • Assist mentor with LOTO of equipment and function testing to verify equipment readiness.
  • Must have a basic understanding of electronic and/or electrical schematics/drawings/prints.
  • Performs work within a variety of Halliburton specific software and hardware.
  • Assist with rig up/down of electric frac equipment including making electrical connections which includes deploying of medium voltage electric cables).
  • Assist mentor with identifying unsafe conditions and suspending site operations until conditions are safe.
  • It is expected that someone in this role is able to break out as an independent PDT within 1 year of start.
Qualifications
    • A high school diploma or equivalent and a technical certificate in applicable discipline is required.
    • The role is a developmental role that will work around three phase power distribution components up to 15,000 volts (medium voltage electricity), PLC hardware, and cabling.
    • This role is developmental role through OJT and trainings.
  • Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including Associate Power Distribution Technician or Power Distribution Technician II.
