Job summary

Eastman Chemical Company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Craftsperson for the Utilities Power Distribution Department in Kingsport. The role supports power distribution operations, maintaining electrical equipment and performing electrical/instrument maintenance tasks up to 138KV, including turbine generators, switchgear, transformers, and substations.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Minimum of two years' experience in electrical.

Responsibilities

• Operations of power distribution system.
• Maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Maintain a preventive/predictive maintenance program.
• Test assets using specialty computer equipment and software.
• Repair on power distribution system apparatus including transformers, breakers, generators, reactors, cables, switches, relays etc.
• Responsible for maintaining electrical manholes.
• Provide installation of power distribution equipment and pull medium voltage cable.
• Issue work permits to groups performing work in manholes, on substations or gear, and in distribution buildings.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding and commitment to safety.
• Must perform all the essential elements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Provide clear and concise verbal and written communications.
• Possess and practice good organizational skills.
• Be a team player.
• Be dependable and exercise good time management skills.
• Must possess the ability to learn the safety and regulatory requirements for the assigned operating area, proficient computer skills, and become knowledgeable of a variety of software packages including specialty equipment testing software, corporate systems, i.e., Microsoft Office products, Intranet, SAP, computer dispatch system, etc.
